This ripe wine from an estate close to Bordeaux city is dense and structured. Showing firm tannins and lush black-currant fruits that are well to the fore, this is a wine for aging. Drink from 2025.

The 2019 Magnol is quite flattering on the nose. Earth and loamy scents percolate through the black fruit with a later touch of graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, a fine line of acidity, quite stocky and well built. Perhaps just missing a little persistence. Yet, it is a commendable Haut-Mecloc that might develop more flair during its elevage.

A solid Haut-Médoc, the 2019 Château Magnol has a spicy, cedary, herbal style that carries plenty of sweet fruit, medium-bodied richness and depth, nicely integrated acidity, and a good finish.
